Seize this rare opportunity to experience a wholesome, relaxing, enjoyable Yoga / Stretchfit® by the Beach. All participants are required to bring their own Yoga mat. Yoga mats will also be made available for purchase on-site. Participants are encouraged to wear long pants for this segment.
9. Skate-robics*
Warm up for the mass inline skating event with this specially choreographed exercise regime combining both skating and aerobics steps.
10. Massage Services

- Participants have to be 17yrs & above to participate in Skate Fun. Participants under 21 yrs old on event day (26 Nov 06) must seek parental / guardian’s consent to register for the event.
- You agree to participate at your own risk and to voluntarily assume all risks of participation. The organisers will take all reasonable and necessary precautions to ensure reasonable safety of the participants but they exclude totally all liability for any damage, injuries or death that may occur to the participants.
- You are to observe all precautions and safety measures that the organisers have brought to your attention including attending any safety briefing session conducted by the organisers.
- For this event, only inline skates are allowed.
- Event officials have the absolute discretion to bar any participant who in their opinion refuse to adhere to the safety rules and rules of participation.
- Participants MUST wear helmet, wrist/elbow/knee guards while skating on the road.
- Rental of skates and gears will be made available on-site but on first-come-first-served basis. Participants are advised to purchase/borrow their own set of skates/gears for the event.
- A skater must retire and refrain from skating if the official medical staff finds him/her unfit to participate in the event
- For participants who have not completed the route by 7pm, they will be picked up by safety vehicles and sent directly to the end point, DXO.
- Participants can board the safety vehicles at designated pick-up points along the skating route to DXO when they are not in the condition to continue skating.
- No fee refund will be given if the event is cancelled for any reasons whatsoever.
- The organisers reserve the absolute discretion to refuse entries for any of the event.
- Participants will be allocated categories and waves according to their experience and estimated completion time. The organisers may require any participant to do trials to determine or estimate completion time.
- Participants must be at the event venue at least 45 minutes before the start of Skate Fun.
- The organisers reserve the rights to use any photographs, recordings, footage or any other record of this event for legitimate purposes, which include advertising for commercial purposes.
- In the event of inclement weather, the organisers reserve the right to delay the commencement of Skate Fun.
- Should the inclement weather persist after delay, the organisers reserve the right to cancel the event without any refund of registration fees already paid.
- The organisers reserve the right to change the skating route based on weather conditions, participation level of the event or other unforeseen circumstances.
- The organisers reserve the right to amend any rules and regulations.

- When is the Women On Skates 2006?
26 November 2006 (Sunday)
- Where will the event be held?
Start Point at East Coast Park (Carpark E2 open field), Area E. End Point at DXO, Esplanade
- Although this is a women’s event, will there be any activity which men can take part?
Men can take part in the Skate Bazaar activities except for Yoga / Stretchfit® by the Beach, Skate-robics. For Skate Fun, men can volunteer as safety marshals. Men are most welcomed to join in the Skate Party.
- What time does the event start and end?
The event starts with the Skate Bazaar at 12pm at East Coast Park(Carpark E2 open field) (Start Point) and ends off at 9pm at DXO, Esplanade (End Point). Participants can choose to stay after 9pm at DXO to chill-out or for the roller disco.
- Can I bring along my pets?
Pets are allowed only at the Skate Bazaar. No pets will be allowed along the skating route for Skate Fun and Skate Party.

- Are guys allowed to take part in the Skate Bazaar?
Yes, guys can take part in the Skate Bazaar activities except for Yoga / Stretchfit® by the Beach, Skate-robics.
- Can I cycle or jog along the skating route?
For safety and logistical reasons, cycling and jogging will not be allowed along the skating route.
- Is this a competitive event?
No, this is a non-competitive event.
- Where can I leave my belongings if I am taking part in the Skate Fun? There will be a baggage deposit area at the Start Point. This service is available at a nominal charge of $2. However, participants are advised to bring along their minimum essentials for the event.
- Will there be any rental of skates and gears on event day?
There will be rental of skates and gears on-site on event day based on first-come-first-served basis. Participants are advised to purchase / borrow a set of skates and gears for this event.
- What if I am not able to complete the skating route?
Participants who have not completed the route by 7pm, they will be picked up by safety vehicles and sent directly to the end point, DXO.
Participants can board the safety vehicles at designated pick-up points along the skating route to DXO when they are not in the condition to continue skating.
- Are there any water points along the route?
Yes, there will be 3 water points along the route.
- Is the skating route suitable for beginner or advanced skaters?
The skating route is suitable for both beginner and advanced skaters. Beginner skaters can choose to skate along park tracks if they are not confident to skate on the road. Should beginner skaters wish to skate on the road, there will be safety marshals to assist them. All skaters can choose to board the safety vehicles at designated pick-up points along the skating route to DXO when they are not in the condition to continue skating.
- Will there be any road or lane closure?
There will not be any road or lane closure as there will be CISCO riders to escort the skaters.
- Is it compulsory to wear helmet and full set of protective guards (wrist/elbow/knee guards) for Skate Fun?
Yes, it is compulsory for skaters to wear helmet and protective guards particularly on the road.
- How can I prepare for the Skate Fun segment?
(a) S – safety ie. they need to put on proper safety gears such as helmet, wrist guards, elbow guards, knee guards. This is to prevent injuries when they fall down. Can do some stretching exercises before and after the skate to avoid cramps or injuries.
(b) K – keep a look-out for other skaters, traffic while skating. This is to avoid bumping into other skaters or motorists if you are not alert of surroundings.
(c) A – ask for assistance when necessary. Whether you need help from safety marshals / skaters from going up or going down slopes or ask to be bussed to the end point if you are not feeling well and would like to discontinue with the mass skating.
(d) T – training / technical skills. You need to be familiar with basic stopping techniques such as the heel stop. Other vital skills include how to break a fall and do simple skating steps. Practice regularly on these skills for beginner skaters. Check out the skating route in advance. If not confident of doing it, can take lessons from skateline instructors to pick up skating tips/skills so as to have a more enjoyable experience during Women on Skates.
(e) E – equipment. Check that your skates, helmet, wrist guards, elbow guards, knee guards are in good and proper condition eg. the straps on the safety gears are not torn and the wheels on the skates are not loose or worn off due to normal wear and tear etc. Don’t bring big bags to skate. Water bottle, pouch, allen key, lights are some of the things to bring for the skate.
- Are guys allowed in the Skate Party?
Yes, guys can join in the Skate Party.
- Is there a minimum age for the Skate Party?
Minimum age is 17 yrs old & above.
- Are skates allowed inside the Skate Party?
Yes, skaters can wear their skates inside DXO.
- What is the dress code?

- Will I need to produce a photo ID for entry?
Yes, you will need to present the admission ticket and photo ID for verification purposes before you are allowed to enter DXO.
- How can I register?
Register at Skateline outlets or online here.
- How will I know whether my entry has been accepted?
You will receive a confirmation email.
- Can I get a refund if I choose not to participate after registration? There will not be any refund.
