The SAVs were very proud to be involved in this year's Safra Quadthlon event at East Coast Park. This is a unique event where participants have to compete in four different sporting events - Swimming, Inline Skating, Cycling & Running. Participants can choose to compete in all four categories singlehandedly, or form a team of 4 members and compete in a relay format.

This is the first time that the SAVs were engaged to become marshals for the Inline Skating segment, which spans from Carpark F2 to the National Sailing Centre. A total of 23 SAVs volunteered and our sea of orange shirts filtered throughout the route.

Our main objective is to keep the skate course safe for the skaters, as well as providing directions and warnings when they are approaching blind spots and sharp corners.

We had to fend off some public park users, especially cyclists who attempted to cycle within the course, despite our warnings. But generally, most of them are co-operative and understanding.

We were glad that our efforts received positive feedbacks and it made our volunteerism meaningful. Many thanks to SAFRA for providing the opportunity for our team us to spend that Sunday morning in significant way.

Many thanks to the following SAVs who volunteered their time:
Kwong Yuen, Eunice, Isaac, Susanna, Eric, Steven, Lay Suan, Chun Yang, David, Kelvin, Chelsea, Ser Meng, Wai Him, Lee Li, Phillip, Ruth, Jessica, Wai Meng, Kenny, Leonard, Eugene & Eric.
