Skateline Donates Fleet of Used Skates to Special Olympics December 2004
Ever wondered what happens to the trade-in skates received by Skateline? In Jauary 2005, a fleet of more than 70 pairs of selected used skates will be donated to Special Olympics, for the use of Special Olympic inline-skate athletes. Help us provide for these athletes by donating your old skates, or using them as trade-ins when you buy your new skates at Skateline. Only skates in good condition will be donated.
Skateline Supports KidsGames November 2004
Skateline thanks the Salvation Army for an opportunity to contribute to the KidsGames, an exciting event organized from 22-24 November 2004 at the Toa Payoh Stadium & Sports Hall.
Skate Assist Volunteers (SAV)Teach Skating at National Park Board's Beautiful Green Sunday October 2004
SAVs took the opportunity to teach skating to total beginners at the Beautiful Green Sunday event on Nov 21 at Marina City Park. The event was the finale of the 2 week long Clean and Green Week campaign organized by Nparks. Scores of participants, mostly children experienced skating for the first time.
Skateline Adopts 300 Yellow Ribbons for the Yellow Ribbon Fund
Thank You for supporting the Yellow Ribbon Project. The Yellow Ribbon Fund is created by the Community Action for the Rehabilitation of Ex-Offenders (CARE) Network which works to offer hope, confidence and opportunities for reforming offenders. Its beneficiaries are ex-offenders, their families, aftercare agencies and other organizations which provide rehabilitation and reintegration services and programmes to ex-offenders.
Volunteers On Skates Wanted For "Youths For Causes"
AppleTree, a project in the "Youth For Causes" charity program is seeking volunteers on skates. Volunteers will help AppleTree distribute Postcards painted by youths from the "Child at Street 11", a care centre for youths from troubled families. Apples will also be distributed in exchange for donations.
Handicap Welfare Association (HWA) Wheel-Walk and-Jog Event July 2004
Able-Bodied and disabled alike participated in this annual event. Also present were students from Damai Secondary School, the SAF Warriors FC players and cheering team, and staff of Infineon. Guest of Honour Mr Chan Soo Sen, Minister of State, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Community Development and Sports flagged off the walk at 8.45am.
HWA members in wheelchairs performed a number of events including wheel chair basket ball and wheelchair dance. Skateline's Sandy Snakenberg performed HipHop skate dance. The event was cheerful and well attended, ending with an exciting lucky draw before noon.
